Chargeback Copilot Data Access Explained

Know your store domain? Start the free dispute evidence workflow directly in Shopify Admin.

Free plan: 3 evidence PDFs per month, demo mode, no credit card for the free workflow.

Chargeback Copilot needs dispute, order, fulfillment, customer, and Shopify Payments context because chargeback evidence is judged on facts.

The app prepares checklists and PDF evidence packs for merchant review. It does not automatically submit final evidence or promise dispute outcomes.

Install on Shopify · Build a browser checklist first

Evaluating a newer app before trusting it? Start with the browser checklist, sample evidence pack, and demo dispute workflow before using live dispute data. The first useful output is a merchant-reviewed PDF evidence pack, not an automatic submission.

Why Shopify shows customer and order access

Evidence packs often need customer name, contact context, billing and shipping details, order timeline, fulfillment status, tracking, refunds, and prior customer context. Without those fields, a dispute PDF would be mostly empty and the merchant would still need to copy everything manually.

Why Shopify shows Shopify Payments access

The app needs Shopify Payments dispute details such as reason, status, amount, due date, and related transaction context to build the correct checklist and deadline-aware evidence pack.

Why Shopify may show device, activity, or sensitive data

Some dispute evidence fields can include identity and activity signals such as IP address, billing details, shipping address, customer history, or other context Shopify classifies as sensitive. Chargeback Copilot uses this only to prepare merchant-reviewed evidence packs for disputes.

What the app does not do

Lowest-friction way to evaluate it

  1. Use the browser-only free checklist builder before installing.
  2. Install and create a synthetic demo dispute if you want to see the PDF workflow without live dispute data.
  3. Use live dispute data only when an actual Shopify Payments dispute needs a cleaner response pack.
